Ceramic

Ceramics are made of a coarse clay that is fired at lower temperatures than porcelain.

They are slightly softer than porcelain and have slightly less resistance to water.

However, glazed ceramic tiles are on a par with porcelain.

Ceramic is very affordable and makes for a great floor or backsplash option. 

 

Porcelain

Porcelain shares many similarities to ceramic tiles. They’re often mistaken for one another, but

porcelain is a slightly more preferred product based on appearance; it is available in more colors

and patterns. Generally, porcelain is a bit more expensive than ceramic, but it is still a highly affordable

product, nonetheless. 

 

Marble

Marble has quickly become one of the favorite materials for kitchen and bath remodels.

Extremely versatile, it looks beautiful for flooring, walls, and countertops. Marble naturally

comes in many different colors, including white, grey, charcoal, rose, blue, and green.

Its large crystal veins make it a distinguishing feature in any home. 

 

Granite

Granite is one of the toughest materials on the market. Resistant to heat, water, and scrapes, it’s

ideal for all major surfaces. It does not come in as many colors as other natural stone products,

but it does have defined crystals for its own aesthetic appeal. 

 

Flagstone

Flagstone is a type of sandstone usually formed from feldspar and quartz fusing together over

great time and pressure. It is very flat and can be cut into different shapes to suit your needs. It’s best

for outdoor tiling or for fireplaces. 

 

Quartz

Quartz tiles and slabs go through a heavy manufacturing process when compared to other alternatives.

Roughly 80 percent of the makeup is ground quartz. The rest is a mixture of resins, polymers,

and pigments. This allows the final product to come in a huge selection of colors and patterns. 

 

Quartzite

Where quartz tiles and slabs are man-made, quartzite is natural stone. It bears a similar resemblance

to marble and granite and is known to have a luxurious shine due to its high crystal content. It still

comes in many different colors and is a beautiful material for any surface.
